Other possible / Andere mogelijke
work-arounds, die via HP / met HP en op Internet hebben gevonden:
LET OP: Deze work-arounds werken niet bij iedereen!!!

Click (or double-click) on the Director Icon like you normally do to run
it... the program is starting, but hiding.
After a second or two, hit on the
keyboard. That will "pop-up" a dialog box... click
"Minimize" (may have to click it twice). You will then see the
Director icon appear in the taskbar. Click the taskbar Director button and
the program will then come up and work normally.
HP Versie hiervan:
Workaround
HP is currently working
on a solution to this problem. Until the solution is available, HP advises
customers to use the following workaround:
1. Open the HP Director software. Do not
click anything else on your screen until Step 2 is completed.
2. Press the Alt key and the Space bar together and select Minimize from the menu
that displays in the upper left corner of the window. If necessary, click it
again until HP Director minimizes.
The HP
Director software now appears as an item on the Task Bar.
3. Click HP Director on the Task Bar. The
software opens and displays normally.
4. Repeat the steps above each time the HP Director
software is used.

NOTE:
|
The HP Director window
may appear larger than normal, but the software is functional.

Cause
In October 2006,
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7. The HP Director software that shipped
with some HP products introduced between 2002 and 2004 may not be compatible
with Internet Explorer 7.
N.B.: The HP
Solution Center software, which replaced HP Director software, does not exhibit
this issue with Internet Explorer 7
Dus ev. Hp Director
vervangen door HP Solutions Center (indien toepasselijk)

HP sent me this link to download a temporary fix until
they release a patch
http://www.geocities.com/contacthptech/hp1.js
I tried it and it works,It is a script file, just save it to your desktop, an
it will give you access to the Hp director. It might ask you to put in your
instalation HP cd
Script Hier:var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); var dirfile="C:\\Program Files\\Hewlett-Packard\\Digital Ima
ging\\bin\\Hpqdirec.exe";
var oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);
WScript.Sleep(3000);
WshShell.SendKeys("%( )"); //equivalent of Alt+spacebar WshShell.SendKeys("nn"); //equivalent of click minimize twice oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);

Zou HP hier iets van hebben geleerd? Ik dacht het niet. Lees het volgende artikel maar, alles blijft zoals het wordt.
Late for work? Blame HP.
So, the dog didn't eat my homework. What made me late to work today was the new Windows Vista-compatible printer driver for my HP all-in-one printer.
My editor happens to have the same model I do, the Photosmart 3210. We've both been waiting for a full Vista-ready driver for a while now, making do thus far with a basic printer driver.
This morning, he sent me a note that the driver was finally ready. Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to try and install it in the half hour I had before I needed to leave the house for work.
It wasn't so much the 15 minute download for the 163MB file that irked me; I needed to eat some cereal anyway. And the download included not just a driver but other Vista-compatible software, such as an update to HP's Photosmart Essential. What did irritate me--and made me miss my bus--was the further half hour it took to install the software collection.
And to top it all off, when I tested out the scanning function, it gave me all sorts of error messages. I guess tomorrow, I should set the alarm half an hour earlier and try and figure out the problem. Or maybe I'll just go back to scanning files onto a flash drive and hit the snooze bar...
